This is an "oldie" my
mom taught me when I was a child......I know my
"kids" will recall it. In fact, my oldest son "Jim" actually sang "these" words in church with his family one time. It was taught to me to the tune of "Hallelujah", an old hymn. His wife was humiliated, I thought it was "funny".!! I think it truly was a "parody" of that hymn, in the days of the "depression", but I can't be sure.... Remember the song "Brother can you spare a dime"? That was a "Great depression" song also.... I believe it was sung in "jest", so please don't take offense at my putting this "song" on my pages.... Thanks....If you know any more words to this one or just want to write me, do so here: |
